Structural Steel Design and Build
DESIGN
Right from contract award stage, you will find that Newbridge Engineering's management team are closely involved with the design team to identify possible project savings in the design element (for instance through reduced tonnage or the build sequence).
Flexibility is one of our key characteristics, enabling us to match our expertise with your requirements, thus providing tailored solutions to client needs. With the combination of close personal involvement of the senior management team, flexibility and attention to detail, our reputation as a contender in today's market has grown significantly.
At Newbridge Engineering's design department, our highly skilled and experienced design teams are capable of working across the market sectors: from public to commercial; from residential to major infrastructures; and from permanent to temporary builds. These cross-cutting design skills are invaluable in helping us deliver on time and to budget for your project.
We pride ourselves on being one of the most technologically sophisticated and advanced steelwork fabricators in the UK. Our extensive library of industry-leading design and analysis software and expertise will ensure that you are presented with the most economical structural steelwork solution available.
Our smooth-running design system enables designs to be imported and exported with ease to the most appropriate modelling system. Virtual 3D modelling can take place alongside both main frame and connection design; this enables us to shrink the lead-in period and get the steelwork to site in less time than our competitors.
We offer design of connections and structural detailing using Tekla X Steel. This facility provides huge benefits that can be shared across the whole of our construction team. And we can import data from other 3D and 2D sources, enabling us to maintain top quality construction and production control.
BUILD
Our undercover workshops cover 100,000 square feet and currently produce 200-300 tonnes of steelwork per week with steelwork tolerances that achieve NSSS requirements.
Within these workshops we have:
- The facility to saw up to 1016 beams.
- 10 overhead cranes, 2 with single lifting capacity of 50 tonnes each.
- 2 CNC saw and drill lines
- 1 CNC Punch & Shear Line
- 1CNC Plasma Profile Cutting machine. Cutting up to 30mm plates.
- 1 CNC Shotblaster In-house to SA 2 1/2
- Paint facility that can apply up to two coat paint systems
All our welders are coded EN9606 and AWS D1.1.
Our storage facilities include a large Stockyard capable of holding up to 1,000 tonnes with provision for safe loading and offloading.
Inspections
We carry out 100% visual inspection together with ultrasonic Non-destructive Testing (NDT) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), all to our clients' requirements. All inspections are carried out by a local independent accredited third party. In house MPI also Inspected by On site qualified inspector (PCN Lvl 2).
